Sex trafficking is the second growing illegal industry in our world. In the United States it is a fast growing problem and every member of our community, regardless of age, gender, socioeconomic status, or any other variable is a potential victim.

Stephanie Olson will discuss the real dangers surrounding sex trafficking in the United States.

Participants will be able to:
1. Define what human trafficking and sex trafficking is.
2. Describe what sex trafficking looks like in our communities.
3. Identify what factors make individuals the most vulnerable to sex trafficking.
4. Describe the grooming process and how it is used by traffickers.
5. List dangers that are present on social-media and gaming platforms.
6. Describe how to spot a trafficking victim and what to do if you see one.
7. Identify ways to prevent youth from becoming victims of sex trafficking.

Stephanie Olson holds a bachelor degree in Psychology. Her experience includes six years of curriculum writing and development for women experiencing domestic violence, homelessness, and alcohol and drug addictions; eight years of educating women in the area of empowerment and intrinsic value; and four years of educating youth ages 11-18 in healthy relationships, the dangers of human trafficking, and social media safety. Stephanie has had extensive training, research, and study of human trafficking prevention education and social media safety.
